Three of our top Year 12 mathematicians- Jake Fernandez, Michael Elliott and Benjamin Wilson- attended a management taster day at the world-renowned London School of Economics on Tuesday 5th July. The taster day gives selected students a genuine impression of how challenging and exciting working at this level will be, whilst stressing the significance of mathematics in Economics and Management degrees at LSE. All three students enjoyed a range of lectures and workshops. Jake Fernandez comments: “It was an interesting day out. We particularly enjoyed the lecture on ‘The effective use of ICT in the modern business’ and the exploration of the Amazon business model. Though I intend ultimately to apply for Economics at university level, it was useful to see the central importance of maths in both degree courses”.
