St Michael’s Catholic College has offered weekly Parent Partnership sessions since January 2014. Run by two highly experienced members of the Inclusion Safeguarding Team – one a specialist (CBT) teacher, the other an Attendance and Welfare Officer. Both are parents.

Our Parent-Partnership sessions have proved to be a popular and effective way to help your child achieve their potential both academically and pastorally.

We offer practical ideas, guidance and support around issues such as, attendance, punctuality, behaviour, routines, boundaries, sanctions/rewards, use of social media/gaming, communication, mental/emotional/physical health, the teenage brain, peer relationships, different parental styles and bereavement. We offer non-judgemental listening and can  use CBT and Solution-Focused approaches -if appropriate.

Each meeting is about one child/family so parents or carers can talk freely. Meetings can be in person or over the phone and last up to an hour. Meetings can be on a one-off basis or ongoing depending on the situation.
